Jurisics Square
One of the most beautiful squares of Hungary is the Jurisics square of Kőszeg, full of historical buildings. You can find here the old City Halls and the Sgrafitto- house. Enjoy the historical atmosphere of the beautiful city of Kőszeg during the Bozsok Music Festival!

 

 

Jurisics Castle
One of the most beautiful examples of Hungary’s heritage of castle-architecture, the Jurisics Castle welcomes visitors throughout the year. Lovers of history can enjoy exhibitions among its walls, but it is also attraction for those wanting a lovely walk in the castle garden.
 
 
 
 
 Szent Imre Church
Visit the „Szent Imre” Church of Kőszeg at the Jurisics Square, right next to the „Szent Jakab” Church. Between 1697 and 1894, before the consecration of the „Jézus Szíve” Church, this has been the parish church of Kőszeg.
 
 
 
 
 
„Óház”
Lookout tower This tower is one of the favourite destinations for visitors of the region, as even the pathway towards it is worth taking a look at. The view is beautiful, do not miss the chance to see it during the days of the Festival!
 
 
 
 
 
Synagogue
Although the Synagogue next to the Kőszeg Castle area has lost some of its earlier splendour, it’s historical reference makes it unmissable during a visit.
 
 
 
 
 
Chernel Botanical Garden
The most ornate of Kőszeg’s nature reserves is the Chernel Botanic Garden. Its tranquil, spectacular park provides a great opportunity for those seeking a calm, quiet place during the Bozsok Music Festival. Visit the garden before the concerts!
 
 
 
 
„Jézus Szíve” (Heart of Jesus) Church
One of the main venues of the Bozsok Music Festival is this beautiful Neo-Gothic church. With its 57 meter high tower it is the tallest building in Kőszeg with fantastic view to the city and the Festival.
 
 
 
 
 
„Szent Jakab” Church
Have you seen the oldest church of Kőszeg, the „Szent Jakab” Church? It was built at the end of the 1400s in Gothic and baroque style, on the ruins of a monastery. Visit this beautiful church during the Alpokalja Art Days!
 
 
 
 
 
„Írottkő”
Trail The highest point of the Kőszeg-Mountains and the Dunántúl Region is the Írottkő (883 meters). In nice, clear weather it is pleasant 40 min. walk to the top – suitable also for families with young children. Visit the highest peak of the Dunántúl during our Festival!
 
 
 
 
„Kalapos” stones
One of the sights of the Kőszeg Mountains are the „Kalapos” stones („Stones wearing a hat”). What makes them interesting is that they somehow don’t fit in their natural environment. The pathway towards them starts in Bozsok with the „Route of Giants”.
 
 
 
 
 Sibrik Castle
The Sibrik Castle is an unmissable sight of Bozsok. It is located at the north-end of the village surrounded by the beauties of nature, right next to the stream. Make sure to visit its breathtaking venue during the Festival!
 
 
 
 
 
The Wine-vaults of Cák
One of the most charming villages of the area is Cák with its old, historic preserved wine-vaults hiding under the chestnut-groves. With special regards to wine-lovers, we warmly recommend a visit!
 
 
 
 
 
The „Andalgó” Promenade
Visit the „Andalgó” Promenade during the Alpokalja Art days! It is a very pleasant tour along the Gyöngyös-stream and you can learn a lot about Kőszeg from the Information boards on the way.
 
 
 
 
 
Thematic walks in Kőszeg
Kőszeg is a miraculous little jewelry-box of history and culture, where you can meet monuments at every corner of the cobble-stones streets. Baths
Lovers of baths and aqua parks won’t stay without entertainment in the Kőszeg-area. The baths of Bükfürdő, Sárvár and Szombathely are all easy to reach within an hour. Enjoy the refreshing time during the Alpokalja Art Days!
 
 
 
 
 
Go-kart
For the youngest guests, (and all the others of course) they can enjoy themselves at the Kőszeg Go-kart run and Petting Zoo. Visit before our evening concerts start!
